  • Training on usage of Educational Equipments in Classroom.

  • To develop in collaboration with concerned staff of the DIET and other resource persons, simple, effective and low-cost teaching aids for various subjects/areas relevant to elementary education and elementary teacher education –charts, diagrams, models, photographs, slides, audio tapes, play scripts, songs etc.
  • To help the DRU in developing low cost teaching aids as above, for adult and non-formal Education.
  • To maintain All A.V. equipments of the Institute,Computer Lab, low cost teaching aids developed in house as well as elsewhere and,a library of educational video/audio cassettes and, if the Institute has a film projector for films.
  • To lend slides, cassettes and films to institutions having playing/projection facilities, and to borrow them from others Resource Centres.
  • To lease with nearby Radio station for arranging educational broadcasts suitable for elementary school children, AE/NFE learners, teachers/instructors of the district.

Several Educational Technology Training programmes and workshops were attended, conducted and co-ordinated by Lecturer of the ET Branch.

Regular activities

E.T Branch regularly carries out its club activity on all working days except Monday between 4.10 to 5.10 pm. There are 25 computers with internet facility in the Audio-visual Lab. The D.E.I.Ed students of both I & II year are trained. They are exposed to MSWORD, MS POWERPOINT, MSEXCEL and INTERNET. 

The students are equipped in creating worksheet, document and PowerPoint presentation that supported in real classroom situation.

VSAT – Installation

VSAT – Very short Aperture Terminal is the latest technology which is used to conduct model class, review meeting and training program through video conferencing mode. DIET, Perundurai and GTS Erode have been selected as the two centers of VSAT.

The following materials are supplied from HCIL COMTEL Ltd to the centres to conduct state wise video conference.

  1. 1.2KU band Antenna with Accessories.
  2. Necessary interface Accessories/ cables/ connectors.
  3. Integrated SIT.
  4. ZWODU with LWB.
  5. IKVA UPS.
  6. 42” LED TV.
  7. Wireless microphone.
  8. HD web camera.
  9. Wall Mount rack.
  10. Client software.

The above VSAT Antenna and the required equipments are fitted at these two centres in the Erode district. All the supplied materials are connected and VSAT centres are connected to the hub. Testing procedure in the both abovesaidcentres are completed.

Virtual class room – Program implementation

A vist was maid to 25 different Government schools in Erode District and data was collected related to Computer and its accuracies. Information related to configuration of the computer, its net work can sharing was collected and it was further used for the extension of virtual Class room. 

ICT – Training

ICT gaining momentum in the field of education, it is necessary that teachers at every level should be able to facilitate teaching- learning process using ICT. In order to enhance the technical knowledge of the teachers of government schools in the state, a basic computer training have been planned by SCERT, Chennai to be conducted through the DIETs in the state.

State Level Training

In the first phase training for key resource persons was conducted at SIEMAT, Chennai on 13.10.15 & 14.10.15. Mrs.J.Rasida Begum from DIET, perundurai attended the state-level Basic Computer Training.

Following state level training, district level training was conducted by DIET, perundurai for 50 teachers from government schools in Erode district at Al-Ameen Engineering college, Erode for 3 days from 02.11.15 to 04.11.15. The following DIET faculty coordinated the programme K.Velu, Senior Lecturer, and Mrs.J.Rasida Begum Lecturer, DIET, Perundurai.

The world has become technologies and globalised.  The needs of the world are met only with future human resources. The human resources should have knowledge on information technology.  The classroom teaching and learning is not sufficient for the modern student.  This basics on computer enriches not only the teachers but also the students in a different way with a new horizon of understanding.

The different software which was taught in this training will be very much fruitful and helpful in the updating of the students’ learning.  This basics on ICT satisfies the thirst of every students in the classroom. It enables him to reach the self-assessment in learning with complete understanding, typing in Tamil, creating files, seaching information etc.

VSAT – Telecast Trail Program (SIT)

Satellite Interactive Terminal (SIT)

The Satellite Interactive Terminal was inaugurated in DIET Perundurai on 25.01.2016 by the Join Director (Scheme) SCERT Chennai-6, Thiru.V.Balamurugan.  The SIT is aimed at imparting knowledge to teachers and also to have doubt clarification and enrichment in their teaching profession for the teachers.  New and innovative programmes, projects and training progammes are planned and dedicated through SIT across the DIET as well as the State.  At present the SIT are being checked during month of February 2016 by the SCERT for a good fine tune and successful completion of the training programme and other innovative projects for the development of students as well as teacher community.

Smart VIRTUAL Class room

To develop teaching skill of the practicing teachers and teacher training students a well equipped and resourceful class room was installed and functioned in the Smart VIRTUAL class room.  On 30.03.2016 at DIET Perundurai.   This project was sponsored by ERNET- INDIA. This Virtual class room is going to function s a hub for the west zone of (Nilgiri, Tirupur and  Coimbatore) Tamil Nadu in the near future.
