  • Book review for standards vii to x on the subjects Tamil, English, Maths, Science and Social science.
  • Identification of hard spots in science for standards VI to X.
  • Week wise plan of fa(a) fa(b) activities of CCE for ix standards in all subjects.
  • Best school selection in nine blocks.
  • Validity and reliability of tools for V STD in all subjects and IX STD in science.
  • To adopt existing items & develop new items for elementary education and elementary teacher education programmes.
  • Teaching learning for general as well as locally developed curricular units- especially primers for classes I and II in tribal languages in districts having substantial tribal population.
  • Tests, question/item banks, rating scales, observation schedules, guidelines for diagnostic testing/remedial programmes talent identification procedures etc.
  • To help DRU in development work as above for Adult and non-formal Education.
  • To undertake testing on sample basis to assess achievement levels among learners, especially with reference to Min levels prescribed for the primary and upper stage and for adult learners under NLM..
  • To conduct workshops for the adaptation/development work mentioned in (1) above, as also in-service programmes relating to CMDE.

Several District resource training programmes and workshops were attended, conducted and co-ordinated by Lecturer of the DRU Branch.

Other Activities

In addition to the above mentioned activities, the following activities were carried out by the CMDE Branch :
  1. Several In-service training  programmes and workshops were attended, conducted and  co-ordinated by the Senior Lecturer and Lecturer of the CMDE Branch.
  2. Verification and online uploading of the applications for admissions of the private TTI students work was done by this department.  Miss.M.Shalini, Lecturer of CMDE Branch was involved in it.
  3. Uploading the Internal Assessment marks of the D.El.Ed., Students of  DIET and Private TTI work was undertaken by Miss.M.Shalini, Lecturer of CMDE Branch.
  4. Regular School visits with the aim of On-site Support to Schools and working Teachers to bring out innovative practices and good performance among the Teachers were made by the Senior Lecturer and Lecturer of the CMDE Branch.
  5. During the Teaching Practice and  Internship Programme the Classes and Teaching Practices of DIET and Private TTI Teacher Training Students were observed and monitored by this department.
  6. The Subjects such as IES and SDW were taught to the PSTE Branch Teacher Training students by the Senior Lecturer and Lecturer of this Branch.
  7. To educate and guide the School Children towards a healthy life and self-hygiene regular school visits on WIFS were made by this department.
  8. Related to FEL Subject, direct experience was given to the Teacher Training Students through field trip with the co-operation of  the  PSTE Branch by this department.
  9. In co-operation with the DRU and IFIC Branches documentation work on the training Developing Leadership Qualities among the Middle School Headmasters and VITAL training for the teachers was done by this department.
  10. Documentation work on the CCE Refresher Course Training Programme for the Upper Primary School Teachers and 9th Standard Teachers was done by this department
